The four men seen here are Jim Hammond (The Human Torch), His Royal Highness Namor, Prince of Atlantis (The Sub-Mariner), Steve Rogers
(Captain America), and Sergeant Nicholas Fury; the first three were the original members of the famous Invaders, while Sergeant Fury was leader of
an equally famous team, the Howling Commandos. Hammond wears the Army khaki ‘chino’ shirt and trousers without rank insignia (being a
machine, he could not formally hold rank). The Prince of Atlantis wears the dress blue uniform of an admiral of the fleet in the Royal Navy, on the
basis that this is the closest equivalent to his status as supreme commander of the Atlantean forces (which by their very nature are naval). Rogers
wears the service uniform of a United States Army captain, with the Infantry branch insignia on his lapels; on his left sleeve he wears the shoulder
patch of the 101st Airborne Division, the “Screaming Eagles.” Fury wears the uniform of a buck sergeant, with the collar devices and shoulder patch
of the 1st Infantry Division, the “Big Red One,” with the addition of the unauthorized unit scroll of the 2nd Ranger Battalion.
