Who’s Who

Osvald Teshik
Osvald Teshik (d. 40 GR) was a Naval space warfare officer (SWO) in the service of the Imperial State who was appointed to the rank of grand
admiral in 33 GR, according to "Who's Who: Imperial Grand Admirals." He was first mentioned in
The Far Orbit Project as the officer "charged with
Core World space security";
Coruscant and the Core Worlds explained that Azure Hammer Command and Anaxes Citadel - and ultimately, all forces
in Sector Zero [Imperial Center Oversector]" fell under Teshik's command, making his official position likely to have been Supreme Commander
Imperial Center Oversector Command. "Who's Who: Imperial Grand Admirals" mentions that he was a conscientious, compassionate, and supremely
self-confident commander who took seriously his responsibility to keep the Core Worlds safe. Unfortunately, he failed to put a stop to the
escapades of the mutinous crew of HIMS
Far Orbit in the Ringali Shell (containing the important Darpa and Bormea Sectors), and thereby incurred
the Galactic Emperor's wrath. In order to make an example out of him for the rest of the Circle of Twelve, the Galactic Emperor sent Teshik on a
doomed mission against the Hapan war fleet; as Teshik's forces were never intended to win, they did not, and he himself barely survived, three-
fourths of his body being replaced by cybernetic prosthetics.

"Who's Who: Imperial Grand Admirals" explains that Teshk's ordeal was far from over, as he was subsequently victimized by the notoriously anti-
"borg" attitudes of high society, and he was exposed to cruel scorn and social discrimination, aggravating the trauma of his humiliating defeat. He
retreated within himself and isolated himself from his own emotions, becoming a dispassionate, inhuman being, rendering the name of his personal
flagship, the Imperial Star Destroyer HIMS
Eleemosynary (making his flagship's very name an exercise in black irony). He subsequently joined the
Galactic Emperor and his colleagues Grand Admiral Miltin Takel, Grand Admiral Afsheen Makati, and Grand Admiral Nial Declann aboard the
second Death Star as an observer of the Battle of Endor in 39 rS. As the Death Star crumbled around him, Teshik was pinned by a durasteel column;
a durasteelworker helped him escape and he made his way to
Eleemosynary, where he felt the stir of emotions he had tried to forget and assumed
command of the Imperial battle force against the rebel Alliance's entire starfleet (as a testament to Teshik's genius, the battle continued for three
hours before his Star Destroyer was incapacitated by ion cannon bombardment). He was taken prisoner and eventually tried as a war criminal, being
convicted and sentenced to death for "inhuman atrocities committed against the citizens of the galaxy." Teshik was executed in 40 rS, possibly in
retaliation for the Imperial reduction of Milagro; he was the highest-ranking Imperial officer ever captured and one of the very few Imperials actually
known to have been put to death.
