Who’s Who

Savuud Thimram
Savuud Thimram (d. 45 rS?) was a nobleman in the service of the Imperial State in the late 30s and 40s rS. Thimram first appeared in Dark Empire,
in which he is the unnamed dark side adept speaking with Gwellib Ap-Llewff who mocks Master Jedi Luke Skywalker’s claim to have come to Byss
by and of his own free will; he was named in the accompanying
Dark Empire Sourcebook as one of the “Dark Side Adepts in the service of the
Emperor.” Twelve years later, he appears again in “Byss and the Deep Core, Part 1: Byss,” in which it is said that he was born to a Chandrilan noble
family, taken by the Galactic Emperor to Byss “once he sensed the Force potential in the young man” (it is therefore possible that Thimram is one
of the “Agricultural Corps survivors and other Force adepts captured during the war” seen in “Evasive Action: Recruitment”). He became “a trusted
student” of the Galactic Emperor and was assigned as “one of the resident Dark Side Adepts that work in the Imperial Citadel,” ensuring obedience
to the Galactic Emperor’s commands and becoming “feared and obeyed by all the servants of the Empire” in his own right. Thimram lacked the more
advanced skills of the Galactic Emperor’s higher level Inquisitors and High Inquisitors, but nevertheless “learned to manipulate the dark powers to
get what he wants,” having become after many years at the Galactic Emperor’s side “a loyal and sinister adept who acts on behalf of his dark master
whenever called upon.”

According to “Byss and the Deep Core, Part 1: Byss,” Savuud Thimram is a male human. The
Dark Empire Sourcebook states that he is
knowledgeable of alien species and cultures, bureaucracy, and dark side lore, as well as being especially accomplished in the fields of foreign languages
– “Byss and the Deep Core, Part 1: Byss” says that he is fluent in Basic and Sith – and is experienced in the use of exotic poisons. He is a skilled
swimmer and trained in first aid, as well as being fairly competent in mêlée combat (“Byss and the Deep Core, Part 1: Byss” adds that he is
particularly formidable with a force pike, but is also skilled with “blaster pistols, primitive weapons, simple weapons”). His command of the dark
side of the Force extended to mentalic influence, clairvoyance, detoxification of poisons (unsurprising given his affinity for exotic poisons),
telepathy, psychokinesis, and artificially enhanced lightsaber swordsmanship; the
Dark Empire Sourcebook indicates that he routinely wore blast
armor beneath his robes, while “Byss and the Deep Core, Part 1: Byss” adds that he also carried a dark side talisman and a force pike.

He presumably died in 45 rS when Byss was disintegrated.
