Who’s Who

Shargael
Shargael was a Moff of the Empire and Sector Governor in the service of the Imperial State before its final collapse in 46 rS. Shargael had been
appointed as Moff Governor of I Sector at some point prior to the fall of the Empire, and unlike most of his colleagues remained in power as
late as 48 rS, holding onto control of I Sector even after Fleet Admiral Daala’s murder of the Deep Core rogue warlords in
Darksaber, creating a
neo-Imperial state that would eventually become Vice Admiral Gilad Pellaeon’s Imperial Remnant in the Outer Rim Territories Region. Shargael
has been mentioned only once, in
Planet of Twilight, in which the Princess Leia of Alderaan — by then Chief of State of the New Republic —
tells her brother, Master Jedi Luke Skywalker, that “it isn’t generally known, Luke, but there’s some kind of leak in the Council. Information’s
getting out to Admiral Pellaeon and to the Imperial Moffs like Getelles and Shargael over in I-sector [
sic].” It is not known if Shargael ever allied
himself with Pellaeon’s Outer Rim Empire, either as a member (unlikely, given that he is not one of the eight Moff Governors in
Specter of the
Past
) or in a nominal capacity, as with Getelles. Indeed, no further details of any kind are presently known of Shargael’s person or activities.

Shargael is mentioned in the
The Test of Wills as having been one of the “six former Starfleet commanders” who joined with the Emperor’s
Ruling Circle to capture Coruscant in 45 rS, as described in
Dark Empire; this is unattested.
