Who’s Who

Spince
Spince was a politician active in the Galactic Senate and Imperial Senate in the 10s and 20s rS. He is first mentioned in the Dark Empire
Sourcebook
, where Mako Spince is said to have been “born to an important Senator” and “raised to a life of ease” with “plenty of connections”; The
Essential Guide to Characters
further states that he was “an influential and important senator in the days of the Old Republic,” reputed to be a
strong leader. Unfortunately, his son Mako – whom
The Essential Guide to Characters states to have been in his late 20s “shortly after the Clone
Wars,” thus indicating a birth date in the late 10s or early 0s BrS – was “aware of his father’s status and the way it opened doors for him,” and grew
into a diffident, lazy ne’er-do-well, ultimately admitted to the Imperial Space Academy on account of his father’s influence (“advisors were hopeful
that Spince would show the type of leadership his father had shown”). Cadet Spince was ultimately expelled from the Military Academy at Carida
after a “prank” accidentally destroyed the Academy’s “mascot moon,” and he then took his father’s money and established himself as a smuggler;
when he found out about this, Spince had his son cut off from the Spince Trust fund.

Spince is mentioned in the non-canonical
Invention section’s The Test of Wills, where he is mentioned as “Zakarisz Spince,” the Senate Majority
Leader for the New Order Party. This given name is unattested and has no evidential status of any kind whatever.
