Who’s Who

The Suprema
The Suprema (d. 38 rS) was a Privy Counsellor in the service of the Imperial State in the late 30s rS, and one of the highest-ranking
nonhumans in the Empire. “The History of the Mandalorians” mentions that MandalMotors was nationalized by the pro-Separatist
government of Mandalore, and that it was punished after the Clone War of 13 - 16 rS by having its executive board packed with Privy
Counsellors, who “accumulated great power as Mandalore’s people looked to them to rebuild the shattered economy”; the Suprema was
apparently one of these Privy Counsellors. Furthermore, he took charge of an enormous slaving ring set up on Mandalore itself, what
Mandalorian Supercommando Fenn Shysa described in “The Search Begins” as “a conscription center fer slaves needed to work the fact’ries,
farms an’ mines what kept the Imperial war machine runnin’.” According to one of the stormtroopers in the Suprema’s vast slave colony within
the ‘City of Bone,’ the Suprema had been chosen as Lord Overseer and Supreme Slavelord of Mandalore by the Galactic Emperor himself.
Nevertheless, as seen in “Death in the City of Bone!” he was apparently not a major player at court; the Princess Leia of Alderaan, late
Imperial Senator for Alderaan, had never heard of him (“What’s a ‘Suprema’?”).

The Suprema’s operation on Mandalore was crippled in 38 rS, when the Princess Leia and a group of ex-Mandalorian Supercommandos
infiltrated his headquarters. The Suprema shot and mortally wounded one of them, Tobbi Dala, and was severely beaten by Dala’s childhood
friend, the aforementioned Fenn Shysa; Shysa and his cohort escaped from the City of Bone in an airspeeder, with the Suprema’s
stormtroopers close behind. The mortally-wounded Dala closed the hangar after Shysa’s airspeeder passed through it, causing the
stormtroopers’ airspeeders to collide against the blast doors, detonating their fuel and ordnance and causing severe damage to the slave colony’s
infrastructure. The Suprema himself was killed by the resulting explosions.

The Suprema was an alien of an unknown species; he was bipedal with purple skin, and his head was vaguely canine in shape and features. He
was marked by a certain avuncular manner, and had no compunction of any kind whatever with the concept of slavery; indeed, he appeared to
revel in his role as head of such an enormous slaving operation (it is noteworthy that all of the slaves seen in “The Search Begins” and “Death in
the City of Bone!” were human). Ironically, he appeared to have a great deal of regard for Darth Vader, of whom he had a life-sized holo in his
office; Darth Vader had once been a slave himself, and was known to have a particular hatred for slavers when he’d been a Jedi Knight.
